Interested in working in the booming civil construction industry? This course gives you the skills to gain work in an operational, supervisory or management role within the civil construction field.
Our hands-on training gives you the opportunity to learn on new machinery and equipment in a simulated work environment.
The civil construction industry is rapidly expanding and can lead you to a variety of career opportunities in traffic controlling, earthworks and mining to name a few.
This course will be run as an 18-week program and you will learn in a classroom and in a simulated worksite environment. As part of the course you will learn about basic civil construction safety and risk management as well as specialist training in the following areas:

This course involves accredited units. You will be required to complete assessment tasks to demonstrate your underpinning knowledge, skills and attributes to meet the course outcomes. A combination of written, oral and practical assessment strategies will be used in either a classroom, online or workplace environment.
Where units require demonstration of skills in a workplace environment, you will have the opportunity to do this either in your own workplace (where appropriate), through a practical placement, or by using one of the Institute's simulated workshops/classrooms. Detailed information about the types, conduct and dates of assessments will be provided in advance. You will also be provided with information about the opportunity for reassessment and appeal.
