The employment pathways hub offers a range of job seeker programs to help you find your thing, and gain real skills to make you more employable.
The following programs are located out of the historic Custom's House at South West TAFE’s Warrnambool campus.

Youth Job Path - Get Ready for Work and Find Your Thing
Get Ready for Work and Find Your Thing is a free program, under the Youth Jobs Path. These two blocks of three week programs will help young job seekers aged 15-24 years to increase their employability skills and become job ready.
Get Ready for Work will help you learn communication, teamwork, time management, problem solving and technology Skills.
In the Find Your Thing block, you will learn advanced job hunting skills, interview skills and market education. Industry awareness experiences will also be provided to help you explore which industry is right for you. On completion of these programs, you may enter an internship or hire role with an organization.

Cost: Free!
Hours per week: 25
Length of program: 3 weeks per block
Age: 15-24

WorkReady
WorkReady training is designed to help you grow in your confidence and skills. You will learn a wide range of skills such as resume writing, career planning, communication, real-life skills and the world of work. The program includes a social enterprise project that will enable you to enhance and develop your team and negotiation skills, whilst tackling social/environmental/cultural/economic problems, and improving our local communities. WorkReady will support you on your journey to further employment and help you realize your potential. It also offers you the opportunity to undertake work placement. This program is ideal if you have been out of the work place for a while, or haven’t been in the workplace, are unsure of the career path you want to engage in.

Cost: Free!
Hours per week: 20 face-to-face
Length of program: 26 weeks
Age: 16+

 
Skills for Education and Employment (SEE)
Ready to find a job or do further study but would like some free help with skills. South West TAFE’s SEE program offers a pathway to employment or further training, with assistance in reading, writing, numeracy, oral communication and learning skills. SEE will develop your digital literacy and employability skills. You can use this program as a stepping stone towards a career or further study. Whilst building your language, literacy and numeracy skills, you will explore career path tasters in a range of study areas. You will be able to focus on the areas that you are seeking to improve. Eligibility criteria apply as this program is program is funded by the Australian Government Department of Education and Training.

Cost: Free!
Hours per week: up to 25hours 
Length of program: 26 weeks - 2 years
Age: 16+

English as a Second Language Program
A free English program. You learn to improve your English skills, to help you study, and manage social and work situations. You will also learn basic listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in English, and learn about Australian culture and customs. The program covers money, housing, work, transport, computers and technology, and helps you pathway into further study and/or work.
 

VCAL Pathways Program

Engage in integrated programs and have the opportunity to contribute to a pathway that reflects not only personal interests, but employment and industry needs in the local area. Core units of literacy, numeracy, work related skills and personal development skills are offered at all levels. A work placement will also form part of these hours at the intermediate and senior level. These hours will be integrated and work completed reflecting either vocational training being completed at the time or individual and group projects.
