Operate a process control interface

Introduction

In this unit you'll be working with Phil in FPT Foods’ pet food division, Bluey.

Follow Phil as he goes through the steps to learn how to use the process control interface.

(Note that due to the varying nature of PCIs in different workplaces, this unit looks at a generic model.)

	Work through the job list Using your learning plan as a guide, complete the jobs listed below.To help you keep track of your progress you might like to tick off each job on your learning plan as you complete it.

Job 3: Use interface system to operate and maintain a process within required parameters

• Step 1: Starting up, monitoring and shutting down equipment
• Step 2: Altering equipment status and set points
• Step 3: Activating sequences to start operation
• Step 4: Recognising incorrect signals and taking responsive action

Job 4: Analyse data to predict and control performance

• Step 1: Identifying performance patterns
• Step 2: Identifying causes of abnormal or unacceptable performance and taking corrective action

When you have completed all of these jobs, contact your trainer to discuss your assessment.
