Introduction

This week, Salena is working in the packaging area of FPT Foods' division, Cobber Snack Foods. During her week in the packaging section, Salena will be teaming up with the other workers to identify and recommend ways the packaging section may be able to improve its performance. This will be extremely useful to Salena because when she returns to her regular job she will have to participate in an improvement process in her own area.

Follow the steps below to help Salena participate in improvement processes.

Number One

Read the orientation guide
If you have not already done so, read the This will show you how to use key features of the Toolbox.

Number Two

Create your learning plan
If you have not already done so, This will show you which jobs you need to do and which ones you can skip.

Read about the fundamentals of improvement processes
If you are new to participating in improvement processes or would just like a refresher, take a look at the

Number Four

Work through the job list
Using your learning plan as a guide, complete the jobs listed below. To help you keep track of your progress you might like to tick off each job on your learning plan as you complete it.

Job 1: OH&S

Job 2: Identify opportunities for improvement

Job 3: Identify information needs

Job 4: Analyse issues and problems

Job 5: Recommend options for improvements

Job 6: Implement improvement ideas

When you have completed all of these jobs, contact your trainer to discuss your assessment.

You can then return to the home page and select another unit to start work on.
