Heading Title 1

Checking the work area and identifying environmental hazards

At FPT Foods it is important that all workers are able to recognise potential environmental hazards in their own work areas.

Checking for potential environmental hazards is part of a regular routine general inspection of the work area. This includes checking for OH&S hazards and cleanliness, checking on the condition of equipment and maintaining housekeeping standards.

One of the routine jobs is to check all the stormwater and wastewater drains for blockages or damage that might lead to an environmental risk. During his week in the waste treatment plant, Phil has been asked to complete this task.

Take a look at the inspection checklist Phil needs to follow when he is conducting his inspection.
