Finance
Getting your finances together can be daunting while you are contemplating your study options. Our Course Advisors are available to assist you with advice on fee payments and concessions as well as Austudy, Abstudy and the Youth Allowance.
Here are a few hints to assist you in getting the best start possible.
Hint 1
When thinking about study, make a visit to Centrelink a priority on your agenda. Some time spent with a Centrelink consultant prior to enrolment will ensure that you have checked your eligibility for benefits and a Concession Card. If you hold a valid Concession Card at the time you enrol, you are eligible to have your fees reduced to the concession rate.
Hint 2
There are a number of grants and scholarships available to assist your endeavours to undertake study. Examples are Parents Returning to Work, Transition to Work and equity study grants.
Hint 3
Purchasing used texts and equipment is a way of saving some of your study expenses. Check out South West TAFE’s bookshop or speak with your Course Coordinator.
Hint 4
South West TAFE has an instalment option for payment of your fees.
Hint 5
All enrolled students will receive a South West TAFE Student Identification card. This card may entitle you to student concessions on a variety of transport fares, entertainment entry and various other discounts within the community.
