Student Representation on SWTAFE Institute Board
An election was held in May for the position of Student Representative on the Institute Board. We are pleased to announce after a hard fought campaign Jennifer O'Meara was elected. Jenni can be contacted via the Student Activities Office or by emailing Jenni.OMeara@swtafe.vic.edu.au .

Student Representation on Institute Committees
Students are entitled to have a representative on the following committees that participate in Institute policy planning and implementation;

· SWTAFE Board

· Curriculum

Student Representative Council
The Student Representative Council (SRC) is the governing body of SWITSA.  Membership of the SRC is drawn from the full student body with each South West Institute of TAFE Teaching Centre entitled to have a Student Rep on the SRC.

The SRC gains feedback and input from the student body and works closely with the Student Activities Team (SAT) to provide a range of extra-curricular needs of students focusing on socialisation, community participation and general good fun.

Becoming a Member of the SRC
Students can self nominate or be elected by their class to be representatives on the SRC in line with the SWITSA constitution.

SRC and the Student Activities Team
Student reps are a vital link between students and the Student Activities Team and therefore students are encouraged to become representatives on the SRC. Call into the Student Activities Team office with suggestions or ideas for activities. More about the Student Activities Team.
