The South West Institute of TAFE Student Activities Team caters for the extracurricular needs of students.

Student Activities Officers
Student Activities Officers are located at all campuses and organise activities and events for students throughout the year which include:

  • Bands during lunchtimes and evenings
  • Free or low cost food days
  • Entertainers
  • cultural and community awareness events
  • Competitions
  • Providing student groups with assistance to run their own events/clubs. Fill out an application form above.
     

End of Course Party Packs
The Activities Team can provide End of Course Party Packs which consist of food and drinks for class groups upon completion of their course. There are two Party Pack choices; pizza or a meat pack for barbecues.

Availability is subject to funding so it is wise to plan your end of course festivities well in advance for your teacher to complete. No alcohol can be purchased.

Free food for night students
The Warrnambool Caf will serve fish, chicken and salad for our students out and about this evening. Live music with Johnny Hudson. 6.45 to 8pm.

Would you like to be notified 24 hours in advance of an activity by SMS? Fill out a SMS Notification form and return via internal mail or drop in to the Student Activities Team office at your campus. This service is completely free.

Missing Link; the SWTAFE student newspaper
The Missing Link -the voice of the students at South West Institute of TAFE is published each week during term. Submissions from students welcome. Archives back to 2004 are also available.

Student Diaries
Diaries are distributed free to students at the beginning of first and second semester. Diaries can be picked up at the Warrnambool Bookshop located in the Library or at Reception at each campus. Diaries include all the information students need about studying at SWTAFE, campus maps, discounts to students and much more.

Student Casual Employment Program (SCEP)
SCEP sources employment within SWTAFE assisting students to ‘earn while they learn’. All vacant casual positions are posted below and can be applied for online.
