Requesting titles

If the item you want has a status of "on loan", you can place a request on the catalogue for it to be kept for you once it has been returned.

This is sometimes referred to as "placing a hold" or "requesting a title".

Practice

To request a title, click in the Request title link at the top left side of the Catalogue record.

Enter your Library barcode number and your Library PIN (your PIN should be the last four digits of your student ID number) and click Login.

If you do not have a PIN or have forgotten it, the librarian at the circulation desk can provide you with a new one.

Check your request for accuracy and click Submit.

The Catalogue will now confirm to you that your request has been successful.

When the item becomes available to borrow, the Library staff will attempt to phone you. You should also make enquiries at the circulation desk.
