About South West Institute of TAFE
South West TAFE is the main provider of Technical and Further Education for the south-west region of the State of Victoria, offering high-quality educational programs locally as well as on a state and national level.
South West TAFE enrols approximately 10,000 students each year, has twelve teaching departments and employs more than 500 full-time, part-time and sessional staff. Its history of providing vocational education and training stretches back over 150 years.
The Warrnambool campus is located in the central business district of the city, opposite the central railway station. South West TAFE also has campuses at Portland, 100 km to the west, Hamilton, 100km to the north and Glenormiston, 50 kilometres to the east.
International students from many different countries have attended South West TAFE, including China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, America, Solomon Islands, Scotland, Ireland, Denmark, Oman and England.
Alongside the Warrnambool City Council and schools and universities of the region, South West TAFE is working to enhance and promote opportunities for international students to study in the region. All parties recognise the benefits international student programs bring to the local community in friendship and cultural understanding.
