Overall Aim
Accreditation training applies to all personnel who handle, sell, recommend, advise and/or take responsibility for the safety of agricultural and veterinary chemicals -sales office, retail stores and warehouse staff. The AGSAFE program applies to the safe storage, handling, transport and sale of agricultural and veterinary chemicals from the place of manufacture through to the point of sale. A flow on effect of responsible advice from trained and accredited staff selling agricultural and veterinary chemicals is expected to positively influence their safe and effective end use. At the completion of the course participants will be equipped with the skills to safely handle, transport, store and supply accurate information to clients on the use of chemicals.
Course Content
This training course is an introductory course, which aims to teach the regulatory and safety responsibilities relating to farm chemicals, including topics such as: Introduction to Pests and Pest Management The Product Label
Safe Transport of Farm Chemicals
Safe Handling and Storage of Agricultural Veterinary Chemicals
Toxicity Health & First Aid
Fire, Spill and Transport Emergencies
Farm Chemicals and the Environment
Course Commencement
This course is run periodically throughout the year at various campuses. Please register your interest for this course by using the REGISTER NOW button at the top of the brochure.
Pre-Requisites
It is a requirement of the AGSAFE accredited body that all participants receive a copy of the course Training Manual prior to course attendance in order to complete precourse study. We therefore need to finalise registrations at least two weeks prior to course commencement to ensure participants have sufficient time to complete the precourse requirements
Course Costs
$615 (includes training manual)
Full payment is required at the time of enrolment, which should be at least one week prior to course commencement.
If course is cancelled due to insufficient enrolments a full refund will be made.
If a participant cancels, one week's notice prior to course commencement date must be given for a full refund to be made.
