Overall Aim
For Electricians, Experienced Cablers and existing GPC Licence Holders

This course provides the skills and knowledge to a standard required for the ACMA (Austel) ‘Open Registration’ qualification, previously the Base Cabling Licence (BCL), which will allow people with experience in cable installation to install and maintain telecommunications cabling in domestic, industrial and commercial environments.
Upon satisfactory completion, an additional registration fee will be payable to one of the following Registrars: BICSI, IT & TITAB, NECA, FPA and ASIAL.Information and application forms provided on course.
Course Content
The following units which define the level of competence required for the purpose of the Australian Communicate Authorities “Restricted” Cabling Rule will be achieved.
ICTTC136B Install, maintain and modify customer premises communications cabling: ACA Restricted Rule.
ICTTC137B Install, maintain and modify customer premises communications cabling: ACA Open Rule.

Course Length
This course is a total of 60 hours training (conversion program) comprising 48 hours 2 x 24 hour units) and 12 hours of assignment work.
Entry Requirements
Electricians and apprentices requiring an Open Registration will be required to undertake the conversion program.
Experienced cablers (non electricians) wishing to obtain Open Registration:
Depending on experience, most experienced cablers will be required to complete the conversion program for electricians, together with a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) exercise. An additional RPL fee will apply. It may be necessary to complete one or two additional units including Occupational Health and Safety and DC theory, depending on qualifications and previous training.
Course Costs
$895.00
Communications Cabling Manual is required and arrangements will be discussed at the first session.
Full payment is required at the time of enrolment, which should be at least one week prior to course commencement.
If course is cancelled due to insufficient enrolments a full refund will be made.
If a participant cancels, one week’s notice prior to course commencement date must be given for a full refund to be made.
