Course Description
This course is suitable for those who wish to work in a small salon or larger spa centre. The course provides general and specialist beauty services and treatments and the development of client treatment plans.

Career Opportunities
Graduates may pursue careers in a salon, Day Spa or in owning a business.

Course Length
This course runs full-time Monday - Thursday from 9am - 5pm, for 12 months.

Entry Requirements
Students will be required to participate in an information session with the course trainer prior to commencement. Preferred entry age is 17 with mature students welcome. Completion of Year 10 is preferred.

Work Placement
All qualifications have work compulsory work placements conditions. Organisation of work placement is a prerequisite to acceptance into these courses. This is the responsibility of the student and should be organised prior to starting any course.

Credits/Exemptions
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an assessment process that assesses the individual’s non-accredited training and informal learning to determine the extent to which that individual has achieved the required learning or competency outcomes. RPL is sometimes referred to as Recognition of Current Competence (RCC).
You can undertake a recognition assessment for individual units in most courses offered through South West TAFE. The process requires you to be able to provide evidence of competence.
