Course Description
This course allows graduates to work as a hairdresser in a salon. Functions at this level include selling products and services, ensuring a safe working environment and performing a full range of client service, including consultation and advice, hair and scalp treatments, hair cutting, hair design, colour and lightening, and chemical reformation services on clients.

Graduates gain entry level qualifications for the Hairdressing Industry.

Course Length
This course is conducted full-time, Monday to Thursday for 18 months.

Entry Requirements
Applicants must have completed Year 10.
|
Work Placement
Work placement is a requirement and where possible we will find suitable placement however additional work placement will need to be found by the students during term breaks.

Course Costs

Credits/Exemptions
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an assessment process that assesses the individual’s non-accredited training and informal learning to determine the extent to which that individual has achieved the required learning or competency outcomes. RPL is sometimes referred to as Recognition of Current Competence (RCC).
You can undertake a recognition assessment for individual units in most courses offered through South West TAFE. The process requires you to be able to provide evidence of competence.
