Course Description
This course has been created to acknowledge the growing importance of project management skills, and the ways in which they can empower employees within a dynamic business environment. This course is ideal for those who manage, or are about to manage projects within the workplace.

Career Opportunities
Graduates will possess the skills and knowledge to seek employment as a Project Leader, Project Management Facilitator or Project/Program Administrator.

This course is available part-time over 8 months. Flexible delivery options vary.

Entry Requirements
There are no prerequisite requirements for entry to this course, however experience in running projects will be an asset. All applicants will go through a selection procedure based on a personal interview.

Work Placement
It is expected that the participant will engage in 10 days of practical placement before, during or after this course. Assistance will be given to those not already in the workplace.

Eligibilty and Exemptions to Receive a Government Subsidised Place
To receive a government subsidised place, students who enrol in Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses are subject to meeting eligibility criteria such as age and prior educational history. If applicants do not meet the eligibility criteria then they may still apply for the course, but they will not be entitled to a government subsidised place and will be charged a commercial fee. There will be some exceptional circumstances where applicants will be exempt from meeting the eligibility criteria. Please contact the Customer Service Centre on (03) 5564 8911 for more information with regards to eligibility.

Application Process
To apply for this course the applicant will be required to complete a Course Application Form. These forms are available from the Course Coordinator or our Customer Service Centre (03) 5564 8911. Alternatively you can download the form using the Application button at the top of this brochure. Contact the Course Coordinator for the closing date for this course. Any applications received after this date will be classified as late applications and will only be considered if vacancies still exist or become available at a later date.

Credits/Exemptions
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an assessment process that assesses the individual’s non-accredited training and informal learning to determine the extent to which that individual has achieved the required learning or competency outcomes. RPL is sometimes referred to as Recognition of Current Competence (RCC).
You can undertake a recognition assessment for individual units in most courses offered through South West TAFE. The process requires you to be able to provide evidence of competence.
