Important
Studying via flexible delivery requires students to be employed within a workplace that supports their training. Documentation will be required from the workplace supervisor for assessment purposes.
Course Description
This course provides the skills and knowledge required to gain employment in a management role, or allows people who are currently working as manager in a range of industries and community organisations to gain a qualification. The structure of the course allows students to directly apply the knowledge and skills gained to their own workplace.

Students will gain the skills to work in a variety of management positions.
Course Length
This course is available part-time over 12 months. Flexible delivery and Off-Campus options vary.
Entry Requirements
All applicants will go through a selection procedure based on a personal interview.
Eligibilty and Exemptions to Receive a Government Subsidised Place
To receive a government subsidised place, students who enrol in Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses are subject to meeting eligibility criteria such as age and prior educational history. If applicants do not meet the eligibility criteria then they may still apply for the course, but they will not be entitled to a government subsidised place and will be charged a commercial fee. There will be some exceptional circumstances where applicants will be exempt from meeting the eligibility criteria. Please contact the Customer Service Centre on (03) 5564 8911 for more information with regards to eligibility.

Application Process
To apply for this course the applicant will be required to complete a Course Application Form. These forms are available from the Course Coordinator or our Customer Service Centre (03) 5564 8911. Alternatively you can download the form using the Application button at the top of this brochure. Contact the Course Coordinator for the closing date for this course. Any applications received after this date will be classified as late applications and will only be considered if vacancies still exist or become available at a later date.

Off Campus Enrolment
Off-campus enrolments can be completed at the Off-Campus Centre in Warrnambool, or at the Customer Service Centres located at the Hamilton, Portland or Glenormiston Campus of South West TAFE. It is recommended that students enrol in just one or two units on initial enrolment. Further units can be added to enrolments during the year.
Credits/Exemptions
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an assessment process that assesses the individual’s non-accredited training and informal learning to determine the extent to which that individual has achieved the required learning or competency outcomes. RPL is sometimes referred to as Recognition of Current Competence (RCC). You can undertake a recognition assessment for individual units in most courses offered through South West TAFE. The process requires you to be able to provide evidence of competence.
