Course Description
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who perform a range of mainly routine tasks using limited practical skills and fundamental operational knowledge in a defined context, working under direct supervision.
Career Opportunities
Graduates may apply for entry level office administration positions.Possible job titles relevant to this qualification include Administration Assistant, Clerical Worker, Data Entry Operator, Information Desk Clerk, Office Junior, Receptionist.
Course Length
The course is delivered full-time over six months or part-time equivalent.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal academic requirements for this course. Applicants seeking entry will be required to demonstrate that they have the underpinning knowledge and skills to study at this level.

Off Campus Enrolment
Off-campus enrolments can be completed at the Off-Campus Centre in Warrnambool, or at the Customer Service Centres located at the Hamilton, Portland or Glenormiston Campus of South West TAFE. It is recommended that students enrol in just one or two units on initial enrolment. Further units can be added to enrolments during the year.
Credits/Exemptions
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an assessment process that assesses the individual’s non-accredited training and informal learning to determine the extent to which that individual has achieved the required learning or competency outcomes. RPL is sometimes referred to as Recognition of Current Competence (RCC). You can undertake a recognition assessment for individual units in most courses offered through South West TAFE. The process requires you to be able to provide evidence of competence.
