Course Description
This program is designed for students wishing to work in a racing stable. The course provides the knowledge and skills that will enhance student’s employment prospects in the racing industry.

Career Opportunities
Graduates may pursue careers in the equine industry including stable hand, track rider, jockey, trainer or racing steward.

Entry Requirements
Applicants must be at least 15 years old, and have access to a racing stable to develop practical skills.

Credits/Exemptions
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an assessment process that assesses the individual’s non-accredited training and informal learning to determine the extent to which that individual has achieved the required learning or competency outcomes. RPL is sometimes referred to as Recognition of Current Competence (RCC).
You can undertake a recognition assessment for individual units in most courses offered through South West TAFE. The process requires you to be able to provide evidence of competence.
