Studying via flexible delivery requires students to be employed within a workplace that supports their training. Documentation will be required from the workplace supervisor for assessment purposes.

Course Description
The course provides a range of shedhand skills including picking up and throwing, skirting and rolling, wool preparation, pressing & branding. Graduates enter the industry working as a shed hand.

Career Opportunities
Graduates may pursue careers in the wool industry and may gain employment in shearing sheds across the country.

This course is delivered via flexible delivery.

Entry Requirements
Applicants with industry experience are encouraged to apply. Knowledge or experience of the wool industry would be an advantage but it is not essential.

Credits/Exemptions
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an assessment process that assesses the individual’s non-accredited training and informal learning to determine the extent to which that individual has achieved the required learning or competency outcomes. RPL is sometimes referred to as Recognition of Current Competence (RCC).
You can undertake a recognition assessment for individual units in most courses offered through South West TAFE. The process requires you to be able to provide evidence of competence.
