Course Description
The Certificate II in Information Technologogy will further enhance your computer skills and how they are used in the home, school and workplace. It is designed for people who have either no previous computing skills or for those who might have previous limited and/or informal training. This course comprises nationally accredited competencies from the Information Technology training package and is recognised Australia wide.
Career Opportunities
On completion of the course students will have the skills in the use of a wide range of software applications to increase emplyment opportunities.
Course Length
The Certificate II in Information Technology is a full time course run over six months; however, some part time options are available. Part time options will be available at night, subject to sufficient enrolments.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal academic requirements for this course. The classes cater for beginners through to students who may already have existing computer skills.

Applicants will be interviewed to determine aptitude to the area of study and entry level.

Credits/Exemptions
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an assessment process that assesses the individual’s non-accredited training and informal learning to determine the extent to which that individual has achieved the required learning or competency outcomes. RPL is sometimes referred to as Recognition of Current Competence (RCC). You can undertake a recognition assessment for individual units in most courses offered through South West TAFE. The process requires you to be able to provide evidence of competence.
