A person who has successfully completed the course will be eligible to apply for the award of Certificate II in Auslan.
|
Course Description
This course equips you with the skills to communicate
effectively in Australian Sign Language (Auslan) with the deaf
and hard of hearing. As well as acquiring Auslan communication
skills the course provides the preparation for further study
including interpreter training, Auslan instructor training or
studying to become a teacher for the hearing impaired.

Career Opportunities
With further training you may gain employment as an interpreter, sign language instructor or social worker.

Course Length
The course is offered over 1 year in 2 x 16 week blocks as well as
weekend workshops x 2.

Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. Auslan I
should be completed prior to Auslan II.

This course provides a pathway to undertake further study including interpreter training, Auslan instructor training or studying to become a teacher for the hearing impaired.
