Employers want workers who are interested in their jobs, have some experience and want a career in their trade.  Doing a pre apprenticeship with South West TAFE can make you the answer to their needs. Try an Automotive, Carpentry, Cookery, Engineering, Electrical, Hairdressing or Plumbing pre apprenticeship in 2010 and see where it may take you!

A pre-apprenticeship gives you the base level, relevant skills and knowledge prior to starting an apprenticeship or traineeship.  You might want to consider a pre apprenticeship if you are not entirely sure what career path you want to follow, as a pre-apprenticeship will give you a taste of the trade or field you’re considering.

If you have no experience and you’re having trouble getting an apprenticeship in a competitive field, a pre-apprenticeship will get  you the start you will need to make you more valuable as a first year apprentice to a potential employer.

South West TAFE has a variety of pre-apprenticeship available for both February and July starts. Most of our pre-apprenticeship courses run full-time for six months and students do not need an employer to enrol.
