Apprenticeship and Traineeships

Apprenticeship and Traineeships
Apprenticeships and Traineeships combine paid work with nationally recognised training. You learn skills in a particular industry by working and learning on-the-job, and also through training with a Registered Training Organisation such as South West Institute of TAFE.

Apprenticeships and Traineeships are available in a wide range of industries and can be undertaken by Full time or Part time employees and Year 11 and 12 students.

Apprenticeships are generally three to four years duration, and are available in traditional trade areas. Traineeships are usually 12 months but can vary up to two or three years for higher qualifications. Both involve a formal training contract.

South West Institute of TAFE is one of the largest training providers of Apprenticeships and Traineeships in Victoria and Interstate.
