Events, Hospitality and Tourism

Events, Hospitality and Tourism industries are one of the most dynamic, rewarding and interesting employment sectors. Job opportunities are available across the globe in a wide variety of vocations including management and supervisory roles.

Our tourism qualifications are driven by industry demand for employees with practical, relevant skills ready to hit the ground running. Graduates may work in a range of fields including sales, marketing, product development, operations, retail travel, reservations, visitor information, events, conferences and festivals.

With expertly trained chefs in high demand, cookery graduates have many employment options available. You can work in a variety of locations and may become a chef or catering manager, own a restaurant or catering company. There are great travel opportunities with many young chefs gaining experience overseas before progressing in their chosen career area.

Event management skills are required across the full spectrum of business and community activities, with qualifications having particular relevance to community, cultural, hospitality, sporting and tourism sectors. You could work in a range of environments including offices where event planning and organisation takes place, event venues and sites, restaurants, hotels, catering operations, motels, clubs and pubs.

Whether you’re looking for casual work or a career job, our accredited hospitality courses will train you how to survive and succeed in this customer-focussed industry. Our very own Endeavours restaurant and bar was purpose-built to provide students with hands-on training in all areas of hospitality. Get your ticket to work in a licensed venue with the Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) course, learn how to make espresso coffee or provide professional bar and table service.

Students also staff and manage the Travel Café, a unique travel consulting business. The Travel Café provides travel information and advice on local, domestic and international destinations.
