What is a Skills Store?
A Skills Store is now available to the people of South West Victoria. The Skills Store is a free consultancy service to individuals and businesses offering expert advice in evaluating your skills, knowledge and experience, and then weigh them against formal qualifications.
- Are you looking to re-train or re-enter the workforce?
- Do you have skills and experience but no “piece of paper” to prove it?
- Do you need information on courses or training for employment or career improvement but don’t know where to start?
- Are you a business looking to increase the skills of your workforce?
If you answered ‘yes’ to any of the above, then a visit to your nearest Skills Store can help you recognise your skills or the skills of your staff and build your future.
Skills Stores provide friendly, expert advice on the many opportunities and options available through Victoria’s vocational education and training system.
What are the benefits in using Skills Store?
- Personalised advice and guidance on how to recognise your skills and address your skills gap
- Access to online assessment tools to map your skills against a qualification
- Referral to an Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
- $250 grant to assist with the cost of the process of assessment and training
- Build your own skills portfolio.
